Dear McKinley House B And B Guests,

We are taking COVID 19 Coronavirus
very seriously. We are sharing with you
what we are doing and have always done, to ensure you have a safe and pleasant stay with us. Our small size helps us further limit the risk of exposure since there are no crowds.

McKinley House Bed and Breakfast is a legal, licensed, inspected, and insured property that has always maintained very high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Each guest room is cleaned
from top to bottom when a guest checks out. All comforters/blankets, mattress protectors, pillow protectors, pillow cases and sheets are thoroughly cleaned after each guest leaves. All door knobs, handles, light switches, and anything else that might have been touched by a previous guest will be wiped down with a disinfecting wipe.

Our kitchen is thoroughly mopped and cleaned daily.
We live here 24/7 and pride ourselves in keeping our home safe and spotless for your visits.
In addition to our routine daily cleaning we have implemented extra measures to keep
everyone as safe as we possibly can.

Multiple cleaning of all common areas throughout the day with approved disinfectants

Hand sanitizer will be available in common areas.

Disinfecting common surface areas throughout the day (e.g, countertops,
stair bannister, light switches, door knobs, front door keypad etc...) We will provide only single serve items at our snack area to mitigate transmission of surface germs.
To the best of our ability we will keep at least a 4 hour separation between guest check out and check in. If possible we will keep 1 or 2 night separation for room reservations.

Preventive Measures

Currently as of May 20th 2020 Jefferson County has 70 current Covid 19 cases. 0 hospitalizations and 66 have recovered.

We have also have implemented the below practices to keep our guests as safe as we possibly can.

Breakfast will be served at one
of the private tables set up for 2 in our dining room/family room.

If any guest does not feel comfortable eating in our dining room/family room setting, we can offer breakfast to go options on an individual basis which would have to be arranged from ahead of time.

Condiments like salt, pepper, and sugar will be individually wrapped to avoid handling bottles
Handwashing will take place continuously throughout the day. Protective vinyl or latex free gloves will be worn when serving breakfast.

WE have added Adirondack chairs and small tables to our front lawn overlooking the flower garden. This will help guests to maintain separation outside in addition to our 2 verandas and bench area.

If any guest doesn't feel comfortable eating in our dining room/ family room setting we can offer breakfast to go options on an individual basis which would have to be arranged from ahead of time.

The health and safety of our guests are of paramount importance to us. In order to keep our guests as safe as possible, we will continue to monitor the latest developments tied to this current virus issue by federal, state, local and community leaders and implement all the necessary measures to maintain your safety while visiting us.

It is important that we all stay informed and adhere to commonsense guidelines.
We invite you to visit the cdc.gov/corona
virus/2019-ncov/about prevention.html)
for frequently updated information, guidance, and material.

We will remain open and vigilant throughout this current situation. We will continue to offer you our guests, a safe clean, and comfortable place to call your
home away from home.

At this time because of the current pandemic we are looking into single serve, packaged foods, and beverages.

We will be rearranging furniture to allow for more space between people in community areas and will focus more on food safety than before.

We are greatly ahead of the curve by being able to offer contactless self check in.

Our kitchen will now be closed to all visitors.

For the time being the family room/livingroom will not be available for guests.

In room housekeeping during a guests stay has been discontinued.

Instead guests will be given 2 bags. One for soiled towels and one for trash. They will be left outside the door so housekeeping doesn't have to fully enter the room.

The rooms will be deep cleaned when guests check out of the room.

Housekeeping will wear PPE to prepare room for the next guests.

McKinley House Bed and Breakfast has been hit hard at this time. We are asking all guests to give us an opportunity to get through this terrible time. In order for us to remain a viable business and keep our house, we are asking you to please accept a gift certificate that is good for 2 years if we cannot rebook your room. This is important for our survival. No business can sustain by only refunding. That is why we are asking you to please accept our cancellation policy so we don't lose our business and home.

Due to the current health crisis we are modifying our check in procedures, breakfast, and cleaning protocols.
